Well, first of all, I have to say that this little carrier was a lifesaver flying from Ohio to Italy with 2 cats in tow. One of our cats was in this carrier and was as comfortable as possible for a series of 3 flights. We also had another carrier for the other cat CFA Cat Carrier which also worked out well. The pros and cons of this backpack were this:

PROs:

1. Easy to pull on wheels in the airport without bouncing the cat around. Having the wheelable feature made it easier for us to get around quickly without making it an uncomfortable ride for the cat.
2. Once while she was feeling a bit more frightened, I was able to wear the backpack on the front and keep a hand inside the bag which was a great comfort to her.
3. Nice big pockets on the sides and front which held extra food, pee pads, and the harness and leash that the airline required.
4. It washed out well in the bathtub when we got home.
5. It met Delta's requirements for an under-seat pet carryon. (Although this changes often, so double check before buying it just for flying!)

CONs:
1. Not a large walking space for the cat. This carrier, obviously being more tall than long, had less moving space for our cat than the other standard carrier that we had for the other cat. During the longest part of the flight we took the kitten from this carrier and put her in with the other kitten in a single carrier, however, we could not have done that in this bag. If you have a very small dog (we have a smaller than average Maltese that LOVES this), that would be the best size pet for using this outside of airline travel.

2. No frame on the top to keep the net from 'collapsing' on the animal's head.

3. Wish this had a place for a water bottle.

Overall, I'm very glad I bought this bag. It's versatile, holds a lot in addition to the pet, and still has a lot of 'viewing space' for them to look out. I have since bought other products of this brand; they seem to be sturdy and practical. I hope this helps!

**Update 9/09: We've had this bag for nearly 2 years now and it has been completely hosed down a time or two and still keeps on going (no rust on the frame, etc. Still no regrets about buying this bag. Since our dog goes everywhere with us though, and he absolutely loves to be in a backpack in crowded spaces or on the more difficult hikes, we added another backpack which is worth mentioning before you decide what to buy. It is the Paws At Work Travel System from PetEgo. The interior expands more or less depending on the amount of space they need and has a frame to keep the space from falling in on their heads in the full open setting. It also has a removable pop-up house, as well as a separate pocket for a laptop. Worth checking out before making any decisions. :)
Quality made - nice features - pup loves it

I got this for my new 10 week old Yorkie puppy. This pack is made of nice quality materials that appear to be very durable, including zippers. How it transforms into a backpack is also nice. I like the external pockets for leash, treats, my wallet, etc. Most importantly the puppy is comfortable in it. We travel to Houston in 2 weeks. My pup will be 16 weeks old then. I think it will move well through the airport.

Update - One Year Later...
Our little guy still loves this thing. When we get our coat on he hops in it expecting go along. When we visit friends and family we bring it along. When we can't find him we know he's asleep in his kennel. It's his 'safe' place.
Excellent for pet transportation on a scooter!

This is a very nice product! I ride a scooter to work sometimes and Ineeded a way to carry my Dachshund with me (she's our unofficial "office dog"). I bought carrier and am very pleased. My only issue is the straps; they could stand to be wider and have more padding.

Probably a little heavy if you are going to use when riding a bike but GREAT for the scooter!
Perfect for air travel

This has been my carrier of choice for the past three years.
The airline has no problem with it because it fits perfectly under the seat.
My cat adores it even with his size (he is quite large)
True is a tight fit, but he just gets in and gets ready for a lon comfy nap.
We even use it to go around town with him. Visits to family members are a joy. (I wish he were a bit lighter in weight though)
The padding on the base is perfect. The pockets are just right for papers and food supplies.
Going through airports with this is a breeze.
I am buying my second one this year because the other one it a bit worn out by now.
Fantastic for airline travel or for tiny pets

If you have a very small dog (chiwawa, toy breed), that would be the best size pet for using this outside of airline travel.

Overall, I'm very glad I bought this bag. Although my cats have since outgrown it, it is still useful for my smaller-than-average Maltese for travel as well as a hike in the mountains. I would definitely buy more products of this brand. I hope this helps!
